Clan and Player System v2
This is the Clan and Player System, or CAPS as we call it. Yes, it's a little bit contrived, but CAPS are what CTF is all about! About CAPS As Savage expands we have found that it gets harder and harder to keep track of the details of the clans and players that participate in Savage Leagues. As a result we decided that the best solution was to create a central registry of clans and players. As well as underpinning the automatic and dynamic nature of our league maintenance system, we will be using this database to keep track of player movements between clans and to allow clans to book match servers for clan practices. CAPS will also be used in instances where we wish to hold "one player, one vote" or "one clan, one vote" polls. The information gathered from player profiles will be used to help plan "LPB limits" and for future projects. For example, we might use the location information to help in finding a good site for a LAN party. We also hope that clans and players outside of SavageUK will also enter their details into the system. We are aiming it as a community resource as much as a Savage admin tool. As well as simple listings of clan and player details, you will be able to use the system as a base for recruitment of seeking a clan, and also to link various player identities together. Who Must Register? All clans that want to play in Savage leagues must be entered into CAPS. This is because the system forms the basis of the league system, so if your clan isn't in the system it can't appear in any leagues. Can Non-Savage Clans Register? Yes, of course. We hope that the functionality that will exist in CAPS will be beneficial to all clans, not just the ones that play in our leagues. How it Works On the player level, you are invited to first create a "profile" (Add Profile). This acts as an anchor point for any subsequent "players" that you create. You must supply a unique identifier for this base account, and that is your email address. Once you have created this root account you can then create any number of separate player entries within it (by editing your profile). This can be used to register your Quake 2 player name, EverQuest character name etc., for all the games supported by the system. This serves as a simple method to link your players in one game to your characters in another. Of course, if you prefer to keep them separate, you can do that simply by creating a different profile with a different email address. As far as clans are concerned you can quickly create an entity by completing a few simple details. You can specify information such as the name of the clan/guild/etc and also the games played by the group. You can also add members to your clan, and set up information to say you are recruiting for players within a particular game. Information SavageUK will not pass on bulk information to any third party.
